Dr. Summerlin started our hospital, as an individual veterinarian with a very small clinic, in December 1992. The practice was originally located on Hwy 90. Over the years, Ark has grown to accommodate the needs of our community, and as of 2007, a new location on Berryhill Road. Even though the practice has grown, his philosophy of a "Small Animal Hospital with a Big Heart" has prevailed. He feels it is important to treat clients and their pets as family.

Dr. Summerlin is married and has three children, a daughter-in-law and a new granddaughter (The current star of his life). His extended family also lives in the area. Charlie and Titan, Golden Retrievers, one cat and two horses complete his family.

Dr. Summerlin received his DVM degree from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine.  He is an avid football and baseball fan!

His areas of interest include veterinary family practice.

Dr. Inomata joined Ark in 2004.

After attending the University of South Alabama, Dr. Inomata earned her DVM degree from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Before joining Ark Animal Hospital in 2004, she worked as an associate veterinarian at several clinics in Pensacola and also as a relief veterinarian.

She is married and has many non-human children at home. She is a member of Pensacola Dog Fanciers' Association and an Afghan Hound Rescue group. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and bizarre foods! Nothing is to scary for her.

Her areas of interest include geriatric and internal medicine.

Faron, DVM

Dr. Faron is originally from Miami.

He received his degree in biological sciences from Florida State University and his DVM from Auburn University.  Since graduating from Auburn, he has worked along the panhandle of Florida.  His special interests are soft tissue surgery and dentistry.  He also serves as the National Vice President of Alpha Psi Veterinary Fraternity.

In his free time, Dr. Faron enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennifer, and their daughter, Greer.  They are owned by a standard Poodle named Doak, and two cats, Aubie and Samford.

He enjoys hunting, fishing, and cheering on his Seminoles.

Dr. Sauser received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She has spent most of her career practicing emergency medicine in the Midwest, primarily just outside Chicago.

She finds client education a rewarding part of medicine. She loves to help owners understand the steps needed to determine their pet's illness as well as what therapy is best for that individual. She strongly believes that a pet's love is the best gift.

In her free time, Dr. Sauser enjoys traveling and exploring new places. She also likes being outdoors, especially if on or in the water! This includes scuba diving with whale sharks and manta rays! When not outside, she is entertained by the daily antics of her cat, Mahi-mahi.

Miller, DVM

Dr. Miller hails from the upstate of South Carolina. She first attended Clemson University to earn a Bachelor of Science before continuing on to Auburn University.

Dr. Miller met her husband, Jarrod, while attending veterinary school. They both earned their DVM from Auburn in 2015. She then moved with her husband to Texas where she worked for three years at a small animal hospital in Waco before returning to the gulf coast.

In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beautiful gulf coast beaches, reading, photography, and exploring the area with her husband. They have three dogs- Rory, Jacob and Wash. They also enjoy visiting historic cities and landmarks when they have the chance. Dr. Miller’s special interests include dermatology and preventive medicine.

Dr. Chandler was born and raised in Birmingham and graduated from Auburn University of Veterinary Medicine.  He has practiced veterinary medicine in Montgomery since that time.

At four years old, he got his first puppy.  The first puppy visit to the veterinarian put him on a path to this field, and he has never looked back! His southern roots make communicating with clients a favorite part of his day.  He loves radiology, internal medicine and wound repair surgeries.

He is involved in church, local and national veterinary medical associations. In addition, Tank (Chihuahua) and Sadie (tabby cat) are his animal family.  He says that the joy he has when helping animals and their owners are a testament to the adage that “if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life”.
